The Artist & the Plague
If it ain’t baroque…
then it was probably written by a more experimental composer after 1760.
It wasn’t until I was walking around one of the museums at Colonial Williamsburg that I realized how much I am influenced by the Baroque period. From painted rugs & toile prints to my 2023 & 2024 Spotify most played artist of the year J.S. Bach.
The fine AI art pieces below are a patchwork of influence from throughout art history depicting how mismatched & broken I’ve been on my road to recovery with Long Covid.

What Is Fine AI A|rt?
Fine AI art is an emerging category within the broader art world, blending the boundaries of traditional fine art practices with the computational capabilities of artificial intelligence. Fine AI art exists at the intersection of creativity & technology embodying a dialogue between the artist’s vision and the machine’s capabilities. As with all forms of fine art, its value lies in its ability to provoke, inspire, and challenge the ways we see and understand the world. It is not merely "art made by machines" but a complex, evolving medium that reflects the collaboration, intention, and depth of its human creators.. It's a joining of AI's strengths and my own as a human with the capacity to feel and form complex thought, with an eye for layout and design.
As a machine, the AI is merely doing what it is trained to do. I have seen some artists refer to what the "AI feels" or what the "AI thinks", but the AI is not sentient... (yet?) 👀, it does not have the capacity to feel or form complex thought. It has not experienced love or pain and to imply that it somehow knows what these concepts are is absurd. It does however correlate imagery with words and humans are universally human.
AI a|rt is essentially a machine's reflection of what it perceives X, Y, and Z look like. In my journey through Long Covid while I could do very little but rest, I found AI art to be a soothing way to express what it is I am feeling when I don't have the energy to create via other means.
Why Fine AI art?
I have always found myself naturally inclined to combine art and technology. I was raised by an artist and an electrical engineer who sailed the globe together before my arrival into this world so I grew up surrounded by folk art from all sorts of distant cultures in exotic lands that would often spark my curiosity and imagination. Being one of the few Gen Xers who grew up with technology before the commercialization of the internet and having been an early adopter of the internet, my perspectives and solutions tend to reach outside of the box.
As an Art Director, Content Creator and Graphic Designer, I often find myself in need or want of specific complimentary imagery on projects which can extend outside of my abilities or would otherwise be too expensive to produce for a given project. AI art has filled in that gap allowing me to improve my workflow and produce precisely the look I’m trying to achieve in precisely the right colour scheme for a given project.
I’ve always been a lover of vocabulary, am a classically trained photographer and early digital artist working in creative fields for over two decades so I imagine when push comes to shove, it was just the perfect storm.
Try not to take me too seriously because I sure don’t.
